  • Kinesiology is based on the principle that we have a natural and innate ability to heal and to be well, but that sometimes imbalances from stress, trauma, injuries or nutritional deficiencies can interrupt or block that ability.

    Kinesiology is a holistic health therapy that originates from the study of body movement (Human Kinetics). Structural and postural conditions in the body are considered as well as the mind body connections between muscles and certain organs, meridians, glands and nutrients. Kinesiology also relates to Traditional Chinese Medicine and the relationship between certain muscles and acupuncture channels, organs and gland systems.

  • Mind Body Medicine focuses on the mind and body as one. Our physical body, thoughts and emotions all interact and play a role in our health and wellbeing. Mind Body Medicine is a broad description that encompasses multiple modalities, including acupressure, kinesiology, holistic counselling, body psychology, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and structural, postural and somatic bodywork.

    Having a diverse ‘toolbox’ of techniques and approaches allows sessions to be dynamic and responsive for each client. Mind Body Medicine uses current science and research in psychology, polyvagal theory and chronic health conditions alongside traditional systems of healing such as Traditional Chinese Medicine five-element theory and the meridian system to offer an integrated approach.

  • Acupressure is based on the meridian system in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Meridians are invisible lines that transport vital life energy (or "qi") through the body. Stress, trauma, diet, injuries and lifestyle can cause imbalances or blockages in the flow of this energy, resulting in specific symptoms and conditions. Each merdian relates to different muscles, organs and glands as well as psychological, emotional and behavioural patterns.

    Acupressure involves applying gentle pressure to specific points alongs meridians to balance and harmonise the flow of energy through the body.

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine is an ancient medical system that was developed in China over two thousand years ago. It is based on the principle of the five elements and the meridin system;

    • Fire - Heart, Pericardium, Small Intestine, San Jiao

    • Earth - Spleen, Stomach

    • Metal - Lung, Large Intestine

    • Water - Bladder, Kidney

    • Wood - Gallbaldder, Liver

    The five elements are a system based on nature to understand the the flow of energy (or "qi") in the body and how this flow of energy can be disrupted or blocked, causing different symptoms and illnesses.
